Welcome to the Resilience Knowledge Base

The Resilience Knowledge Base (RKB) is a repository of information to support communities interested in enhancing their resilience. Information in the RKB will include best practices, case studies, guidance documents, tools, potential solutions, and other informative reference materials.

The first document included in the RKB by the Community Resilience Panel was the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Community Resilience Planning Guide for Buildings and Infrastructure Systems (Guide). The Guide provides a practical and flexible 6-step process that can be used by communities of any size to become more resilient.

The Panel has seven committees working to identify resources to be in included in the RKB:

  • Buildings & Facilities
  • Communications (telecom)
  • Data, Metrics, & Tools
  • Energy
  • Social & Economic Functions
  • Transportation
  • Water & Wastewater
